MALANG – Director Mohit Suri is in form with his new venture called, “MALANG-UNLEASH THE MADNESS”. His previous films like “Aashiqui 2” & “Ek Villain”, were inspired by Hollywood and from a Korean film, but this time this is an original that is set in Goa during Christmas Eve, The film has a lot of twists and turns that will entertain you.
Aditya Roy Kapoor & Disha Patani play two strangers, or rather the tourists that come to Goa, only to find that they are meant to be together, but things take a U-Turn in their life and things go from downhill by being at places at the wrong time. The story centers around 4 characters that have a dark side. You could say skeletons in their closets. Anil Kapoor as Inspector Anjaane Agahse is great. He brings a reckless, cocaine addict character officer,to life, who is always taking the law in his hands one step to far. If there is no proof, then end it with an encounter is his swag style. I wish his role was developed further, but then there other characters that need to be defined in the narrative as well.
Kunal Khemu as a Goan -Portugese descent, delivers a complex character. he plays Michael Rodriguez, who is a special crime branch officer, that is going through a marriage that is falling apart, Khemu finally gets his due. As for Aditya Roy Kapoor in the lead suits the role, but lacks the emotion and pain that could have been executed better. As for Disha Patani, she is just wow!!. She is hot, stunning, and is a natural beauty. Put it this way… anyone would become “MALANG” – (Vagrant) over her. Overall the film gets a 3 star recommendation. Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
