NIGHTMARE ALLEY -Just released last week during the “Spider-Man” – frenzy was, “NIGHTMARE ALLEY”. Coming from the visionary director Gullermo De Toro, he captures “The Great Depression Era”, and the early 40’s with great detail, and sets you in that Hitchcock style of filmmaking.
It stars Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Rooney Mara, Ron Perlman, Toni Collete & Willem Dafoe in key roles. It deals with the theme of karma being a bitch. what goes around comes around. Bradley Cooper plays a drifter named, Stanton Carlyle, who is running away from his dark past, and looks for a job in a moving freak show circus that travels throughout the states. He encounters Tarot reader, and gains the the knowledge of how to perfect this concept of cheating people by telling lies and telling them their false predictions.
He masters this and moves on with his lady love only to meet his match in the city with a psycho analyst that deal with elite people, along with their problems. Money is to be made and an affair that goes awry.
