THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR – If you were raised or born in New York, then you will have a special soft corner, or rather a connect with this sweet simple love story called, “THE SUN IS ALSO A STAR”. New York can be considered the melting pot of the world, where so many cultures collide and meet.

First of all… love is what you see from your eyes, and from your perspective. Based on the best selling novel, the film tells the story of a young South Korean boy falling in love with a Jamaican girl, whose family and herself are getting deported, due to visa problems. But both meet by chance in the city, and instant chemistry connects them in one day. Opposites attract is the folklore of this premise.

The film is very simply told, and features fresh faces played by Charles Melton & Yara Shahidi, who give that freshness to this film.To see two different cultures that may oppose each other in tradition, and reservation, then this story tries to break that barrier for one another.

That first love is always special, and if you connect despite all odds its priceless. If you like love stories, then this one is up your alley from the streets of New York City. The film gets a 3 and a half stars recommendation. Courtesy Awesome TV & BEING FILMY.
